.AI Domain Name Rules/Requirements

Government of Anguilla is the sponsor and Identity Digital is the backend provider for the country-code top-level domain name .ai extensions that represent Anguilla.

Domain Name related Rules

When registering a .ai domain, you must follow specific requirements.

Must use: 1-63 characters
Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 1st or last characters of the domain name)
Cannot use: Special characters (e.g., & and #)
IDNs: Not supported
Registration Tenure: 2 Years
DNSSEC: Supported

Domain Name Renewal

Renewal Tenure: 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 years (Currently only supports 2 years, can be renewed 4 times)
If you have auto-renewal enabled, we’ll attempt to charge the associated payment method and renew your .ai domain on its expiration date.
If auto-renew fails or isn’t enabled at all, we’ll park your .ai domain. A parked domain will display a temporary web page when the domain name is entered in a web browser.
If the domain isn’t manually renewed within 40 days following expiration, we cancel it and remove it from your account.

Contact Updates: Supported

Name Servers and Child Name Servers related Rules

Each .AI domain name needs to have at least 2 Name Servers and may have upto 13 Name Servers.
There is no limitation on the number of Child Name Servers you may create.
You may associate upto 13 IP Address per Child Name Server.
You may associate IPv6 Address in Child Name Servers.
You may modify both Name Servers as well as any Child Name Servers associated with your .AI domain name.
